About Star, Idaho
Star is a scenic city located in Ada County, Idaho. It is less than 20 miles west of Boise, offering the best of rural outdoors living within a short drive of the amenities of the city. The population of Star has nearly doubled since 2010, and the city is now home to roughly 11,117 residents.
“Star offers a small-town feel that’s a short drive from the city,” Cuccia said. “It’s the best of both worlds.”
Outdoor Adventures
Cuccia is an outdoorsman who has instilled his love of nature in his children and grandchildren. Star, Idaho is known for its fly-fishing, golf courses, parks, and adventures along the Boise River.
Stephen Cuccia explained that this outdoor playground is ideal for families. Eagle Island State Park and Star Riverwalk Park are favorites for wildlife viewing, picnics, swimming, and more. Eagle Island State Park features a swimming beach with a waterslide, zip lines, disc golf, and miles of trails for biking, hiking, or even horseback riding.
Cuccia believes that time spent in nature is essential for good physical and mental health, and Star offers outdoor adventures for kids and adults alike.
Cultural Experiences
Star is a small town, but it’s bursting with personality. A historic site in the city is the Firebird Raceway NNHRA drag racing track. Events are often held at the raceway, drawing visitors from throughout the region and across the country.
Just south of Star is the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa. This center hosts one of the country’s largest rodeos, theatrical presentations, concerts, and more. The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, and countless other world-renowned bands and artists have graced the Ford Idaho Center stage.
